Patience…

…is a virtue, they say. And good things come to those who wait. And a rolling stone…well, you get the idea.

Summer is off to a slow start, in the weather and the photo session department.  Both, especially the rain, have tested my patience. But the sun finally seems to be coming around more often, and I’m starting to get more requests and bookings for sessions – a couple of high school seniors, families, headshots and my first maternity session. All of which, as Martha would say, are good things. And if they all start to schedule session dates for the next month or two, I need to be a rolling stone and shake off the moss that’s been growing the past month!

Not that much has grown, mind you, for this downtime has afforded me the opportunity to work on other projects. I’ve volunteered my time to run a local high school scholarship pageant. I spent a day with my peers learning the tricks of the trade from a photographer in Wisconsin who does insanely amazing things with senior portrait photography and high school sports posters. I’ve worked with my graphic designer and created a new logo to further my branding process. I’ve joined my local chamber of commerce.

But what I’m itching to do now is get back behind the camera and create incredible images. So I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the weather pattern holds and my email box fills with requests for sessions. Until then, enjoy another photo from the recent wedding (which I’m still editing), and behold the new logo…
